Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU) has been recognized in the prestigious 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (WUR) with the status of “reporter.”

The inclusion of TMU in these globally recognized rankings is a testament to its commitment to academic excellence and international visibility, despite being a newly established institution.

The Times Higher Education announced its latest WUR results on 9 October, where TMU was acknowledged as a “reporter.” This status is granted to universities that have provided data for evaluation but do not yet meet the eligibility criteria for full ranking inclusion. It highlights TMU’s commitment to transparency and quality, as it steps into the global higher education landscape.

Tashkent Metropolitan University began its operations in the 2024/2025 academic year with a mission to provide innovative education and research in a globally connected environment. The university’s participation in the rankings process so early in its journey reflects its ambition to grow and establish itself on the world stage.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, one of the most influential university ranking systems globally, assesses institutions based on 13 rigorous performance indicators, including innovation, international diversity, learning environment, and research influence. The rankings serve as a global benchmark for university performance.

TMU’s inclusion as a “reporter” marks the beginning of its path toward full recognition and future successes in global academia.
