Presentation of the University of Missouri Held at Tashkent Metropolitan University

A presentation of the University of Missouri (MU, USA) and its academic programs took place at Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU).

The presentation was conducted by Dr. Mary Stigmaier, Vice Provost for International Programs at the University of Missouri, for TMU students and faculty.

Founded in 1839, the University of Missouri is a public research university with a land-grant mission, the largest in the state of Missouri, and the flagship campus of the University of Missouri system. MU was the first public university established west of the Mississippi River and offers more than 300 educational programs across thirteen academic units.

Two MU alumni and staff members have been awarded Nobel Prizes: Frederick Chapman Robbins received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1954, and George Smith was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2018 while affiliated with the university.

During the meeting, Dr. Stigmaier spoke about the university’s opportunities, academic programs—including short-term cultural programs—and answered questions from TMU students.
