TMU and MDIS Tashkent forge new partnership to enhance academic and student mobility opportunities
Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU) and the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent (MDIS Tashkent) have entered into a new agreement aimed at strengthening their academic and cultural ties.
This collaboration promises to offer a range of opportunities for students and faculty of both institutions to engage in joint research, conferences, and training programs, while also fostering mobility for students.
The agreement was signed by Bekhzod Djalilov, President of Tashkent Metropolitan University, and Dr. Ilkhom Mamatkulov, Rector of MDIS Tashkent. It lays out a comprehensive framework for cooperation in areas such as research collaboration, student exchange programs, and short-term courses in fields including finance, management, IT, and law.
One of the key elements of the agreement is the provision for student mobility, which will allow students from both universities to enroll in each other’s programs for a period of up to one year. This exchange program will not be bound by the principle of reciprocity and will be dependent on available resources at each institution.
Students who have completed the Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies with no failures will also have the opportunity to transfer into programs at MDIS Tashkent from the second year.
Both institutions are committed to ensuring the smooth implementation of these programs by providing academic recognition for credits earned during exchanges. The specifics of each student’s exchange program will be approved in advance by academic officers, ensuring that the courses taken and credits earned align with graduation requirements.
Prospective students are advised to contact the admission teams of the universities directly for the most current admission requirements, as these may evolve over time.
Additionally, the agreement includes provisions for collaborative research initiatives, participation in conferences and seminars, and the establishment of student summer courses. Both universities are eager to foster a collaborative environment that will benefit their students, faculty, and the broader academic community.
Bekhzod Djalilov, President of TMU, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “We are excited to collaborate with MDIS Tashkent, as this agreement enhances the educational opportunities available to our students and creates new avenues for academic exchange and research.”
