Tashkent Metropolitan University and Widener University sign memorandum of understanding
Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU) and Widener University (USA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, opening up new opportunities for TMU students. Graduates of the TMU’s Foundation program will now be able to continue their studies at one of the leading universities in the United States — Widener University, which ranks among the top 200 national universities according to U.S. News & World Report.
The agreement outlines a range of joint initiatives, including academic exchange programs for students and faculty, the development of dual-degree programs, joint research projects, and professional development opportunities.
Particular emphasis is placed on supporting TMU Foundation program graduates, who will gain access to educational programs at Widener University. In other words, TMU students will be able to continue their studies at Delaware Law School of Widener University upon successful completion of the Foundation program. The first TMU students are expected to begin their studies in the United States as early as 2026.
“This memorandum marks an important step in strengthening TMU’s international cooperation. We are pleased to offer our students the opportunity to study at a prestigious American university, which will open new horizons for their academic and professional growth,” said Bekzod Jalilov, President of Tashkent Metropolitan University.
According to the document, the two universities will jointly develop admission criteria, including academic performance and language proficiency requirements. The specifics of each program will be detailed in separate agreements, ensuring both flexibility and transparency in the process.
