TMU Dean Represents University at International Education Conference

Tashkent Metropolitan University is proud to announce that Munisa Muhtarova, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, represented TMU at an international academic conference hosted by Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages on 14 May.

Dean Muhtarova delivered a scholarly presentation titled "From Needs to Design: Developing a Need-Based Professional Development Program for Early-Career EFL Teachers in Uzbekistan." Her address drew meaningful attention from educators and researchers in attendance, underscoring TMU's growing presence in the national and international academic community.

The presentation examined the critical importance of building professional development programs that genuinely reflect the needs and realities of early-career English as a Foreign Language teachers across Uzbekistan — placing needs analysis at the heart of effective, context-sensitive teacher training.

The work presented highlights TMU's commitment to evidence-based approaches in education, emphasizing that meaningful teacher development must begin with listening — understanding who teachers are, what challenges they face, and what support they truly need to thrive in the classroom.

Tashkent Metropolitan University remains committed to contributing to meaningful academic dialogue on innovation in education, English language teaching, and teacher development — both within Uzbekistan and across the broader global academic community.
