TMU and UPM Launch New PhD Program in Education

Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU), in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has launched a new PhD program in education, set to commence in October 2025.

This initiative offers a unique opportunity for education leaders and researchers to develop both academic and professional competencies within an international academic environment. The program is designed for a duration of 2 to 5 years and features a flexible learning format, enabling participants to combine research activities with professional practice. Successful completion of the program will award a degree from UPM, opening broad career prospects both in Uzbekistan and abroad.

Universiti Putra Malaysia, located in Selangor, Malaysia, is ranked 134th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and is one of the country’s leading research universities. The Faculty of Educational Studies at UPM has over 48 years of experience, with 98% of faculty holding PhD degrees, ensuring a high standard of academic and research training.

TMU President Bekhzod Djalilov emphasized, “The launch of a PhD program in education is an important step in enhancing our university’s academic potential and strengthening international collaboration in higher education. We are confident that this program will serve as a platform for training highly qualified specialists capable of making significant contributions to the development of Uzbekistan’s educational system and beyond.”
