Graduates of TMU Foundation gain opportunity to continue education at Westminster International University in Tashkent
Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU) and Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) have entered into a groundbreaking collaboration that will allow graduates of TMU’s foundation programme to continue their education at WIUT.
This partnership is formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Bekhzod Djalilov, President of Tashkent Metropolitan University, and Komiljon Karimov, Rector of Westminster International University in Tashkent.
The memorandum establishes a framework for academic cooperation between the two institutions, focusing on key areas such as education and scientific research. The primary objective is to create a collaborative and enriching academic environment that benefits both institutions and their students.
Under the terms of the agreement, graduates of TMU’s foundation programme who meet the admission requirements will have the opportunity to transfer to WIUT from their second year of study. To qualify, students must pass a mathematics exam, hold an IELTS certificate with a score of 6 or an equivalent approved certificate, and complete the foundation programme with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Prospective students are advised to contact WIUT directly for the most current admission requirements, as these may evolve over time.
The collaboration also encompasses joint research initiatives and the publication of academic articles. Both universities are committed to encouraging their staff to engage in collaborative research and contribute to scientific literature.
Additionally, the universities will organize and participate in various events, including conferences and seminars, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience. They will also engage in student and faculty exchange programs and develop joint educational initiatives.
Bekhzod Djalilov, President of Tashkent Metropolitan University, said: “We are delighted to embark on this collaborative journey with Westminster International University in Tashkent. This memorandum not only opens new pathways for our students but also strengthens our commitment to providing high-quality education and research opportunities. By joining forces, we aim to enhance the academic experience for our students and contribute to the global academic community through joint research and educational programs.”
