Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU) is proud to announce that it has been officially approved by Pearson, the world's leading learning company, to offer Edexcel Academic Qualifications, including International Advanced Level (IAL) examinations.

This certification recognizes TMU as a trusted centre meeting Pearson Edexcel's rigorous international standards for academic excellence, examination integrity, and student support.

This milestone positions TMU as one of the select institutions in Uzbekistan authorized to deliver Pearson Edexcel qualifications — globally recognized credentials that open the doors to the world's leading universities.

What This Means for Students

Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Levels (IAL) are designed for learners seeking to progress to top universities around the world. The qualifications use a flexible, modular approach — allowing students to sit examinations at the end of each unit or throughout their programme when they feel fully prepared.

Examination windows are offered in January, June, and October each year for most subjects, providing TMU students with greater flexibility and more opportunities to achieve the grades they need.

Edexcel Academic Qualifications are benchmarked by UK ENIC (formerly NARIC), the UK's national agency for the recognition of international qualifications, confirming their equivalence to the British educational system.

More than 500 universities worldwide have formally confirmed they accept Pearson Edexcel IALs on an equivalent basis to GCE A Levels for undergraduate admission — including all Russell Group universities in the UK (Oxford and Cambridge among them), all Group of 8 universities in Australia, and leading US institutions such as Yale, Columbia, Cornell, MIT, and Caltech.

Students at TMU will now gain access to:

  • Internationally recognized qualifications accepted by top universities across the UK, USA, Australia, Asia, and beyond
  • A flexible, modular assessment structure with multiple examination sittings per year
  • The ability to resit individual units to improve grades, without losing previously banked results
  • High-quality teaching resources specifically designed for international learners

A clear progression pathway — from International AS Level through to a full International Advanced Level qualification

Bekhzod Djalilov, Co-Founder and President of Tashkent Metropolitan University, expressed his enthusiasm about this achievement: "Receiving official approval as a Pearson Edexcel centre is a defining moment in TMU's mission to bring world-class education to Uzbekistan. By offering Edexcel Academic Qualifications and International Advanced Level examinations, we are giving our students a direct pathway to the finest universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and across the globe. At TMU, our dream has always been to educate future leaders — and with internationally recognized qualifications now available right here in Tashkent, that dream becomes even more achievable for the next generation of Uzbek students."

With the addition of Pearson Edexcel approval, TMU continues to build its portfolio of internationally recognized programmes, reinforcing its position as a leading hub of international education in Central Asia.
